Mountain biking / biking 
At the tourist office in Hautefort (1Km) a map is available with marked mountain bike tracks close to the village.
In general biking is rather a strain on you, because of the hilly surroundings. Bike rental is available at:

This is possible on the Auvézère river in Cherveix Cubas (5Km). Because of small rapids you’re not allowed to go with small children who can’t swim.
Family conoeing is possible in Montignas (20Km) on the Vézère river and on the Dordogne (65 Km) as well. One of the nicest trips is from Vitrac (65 Km) to Beynac.

Horse riding: There is a big riding school in Tourtoirac (8 km) who also organize cross country rides. For more enquiries:

Close by in Excideuil (15Km) you can play a 9 hole golf course.

At the foot of the castle of Hautefort, 2 minutes from Le Pavillon, is a fishing pond, Etang du Coucou (êche/). Here you can fish for carp, catfish and sunfish. Of course you can also fish in the Auvézère. We are happy to help you arrange your fishing license.

Pot-holing: Possible under and rock climbing
These activities are possible under supervision in nearby Cherveix-Cubas and its surrounding area (5 – 15Km).

Tree climbing park
L’appel de la Foret is a 50-acre park in Thenon (19 Km). Here the whole family can take a stroll and enjoy adventure trails that will take you from one tree top to another.

Lake for swimming and nautical sports
The lake (in Rouffiac) is at 20 minutes by car. It has a nice beach with a defined swimming area. There is also a restaurant and you can rent a canoe or pedal boat. In another part of the lake (at walking distance) is a lift (similar to a ski lift), by means of which you can do wake boarding, knee boarding or water skiing (you start from the shore).
